Welcome to the 60th Anniversary of the Frostbite Festival!
The Frostbite Festival runs on the first Sunday of December each year, so you never know what kind of weather we'll get! There are two options for these out-and-back races: the 2 mile and 10 mile race. The races start simultaneously at 9:00 a.m. This is the final race of the season and the 10 mile race is last leg of the SRRC Triple Crown Challenge and Abe's 50K Throwdown!
The FrostToes training group will prepare you for the 10 mile race and you'll make some great friends in the process! It is a free training group, so check out their Facebook page or web page to join them. Typically, they will meet on two weekday evenings in Washington Park with a long run on Saturday.
For the safety and well-being of all participants, the 2023 Frostbite Festival will have an In-Person and Virtual option.
IN-PERSON INSTRUCTIONS
In-person race day details are still being finalized and will follow all local and state regulations and recommendations on race day. Participants will receive an email with packet pick up and race day instructions before the race. If you do not start the in-person race, you will automatically be transferred to the virtual race following the in-person event.
VIRTUAL INSTRUCTIONS
You will be able to participate in the Frostbite Festival on your own time and on your own course. You choose the location and if you would like to run or walk. You do not have to run the course. If you choose to do so, please use extreme caution as that area can be heavily traveled by cars moving very fast. There will not be any course support, markings, or course marshals directing traffic. Also, please do not park in the Fit Club parking lot.
Race registration closes Friday, December 1, 2023 at noon. There is no registration at Saturday packet pick up or on race day. No transfers or sales between persons are permitted. You must be registered by Friday, December 1 at noon to participate.
START/FINISH:
Both races start and finish at the FitClub on West Lawrence. Pre- and post-race activities are held inside the FitClub group exercise room and bathrooms are available in the locker rooms.
PACKET PICKUP
More specific packet pickup instructions will be provided closer to race day. You are welcome to have a friend or family member pick up your packet for you if can’t make it.
If you are unable to pick up your packet on Saturday, there will also be race morning packet pickup. Any packets not picked up at the Saturday or race morning packet pickups will be forfeited unless the shipping option was selected.
SHIRT AND SWAG:

PARKING:
Please do not park in FitClub's parking lot as they are open to their members while the race is going on. Please do not park in the parking area/lot across the street. Please do not park in Dollar Generals parking lot. Participants will receive race day parking instructions before the race.
