Mile at Washington Park
Speed is moving back to Washington Park this week. We will meet at 6 pm at the picnic shelter near the playground. This week we will be doing a mile for time. The course will go from the the 1.25 mark of the women’s distance festival to the .25 mark. We will do our normal warmup plus some build up strides. Ladders
What is our Speed Group’s blood type? Be Positive! So this will be our last speed workout on the track for 2021. Next week and for all of September we will meet at the Washington Park picnic shelter. This week we will be doing a ladder workout. The distances will be 100/200/400/800/400/200/100 Speaking of being positive, I fell down the stairs today and I thought, “Wow, I really fell down those stairs fast!”


8 x 400 meters - Race Pace
This week we are back on for speed. We will meet at the SHG track Wednesday at 6 pm. The plan is 8x400 at your race pace. This will help you learn to develop strategies to feel relaxed and know your correct pace. We will do our normal warmup and cool down. Hope to see you there. The inventor of the “knock knock joke” should get a no-bell prize!
Parade Run Course
This week we will take another break from the track and run the Parade Run course. Meet at the big slide just inside the fairgrounds main gate at 6pm Wednesday evening. We will run the course in 800 meter segments and discuss racing strategies and tips. We will warm up and stretch before we start the run. Look forward to seeing you all.
