

Bike/Run
For our final speed workout of 2021 I’d like to do a “Bike Run”. This is something I’ve done with my team. Basically we would divide the group into 2-person teams. For a loop around Washington Park each team would alternate between running and riding a bike on a 2 minute clock. While one person is running their teammate will ride along side them. We will of course need people to bring bikes. We only will need one bike per team but we won’t know the teams until we get tog


Intervals and pizza!
This week at speed we will be doing intervals on the roads followed by a get-together at the Owens’ house. We will meet at Town and Country Shopping Center on MacArthur Boulevard in the parking lot at 6pm. We will do our warmup stretching and then proceed to a road near Washington Park for the intervals. Lincoln Memorial Garden
This week we will switch things up a bit and do a run at Lincoln Memorial Gardens. We will meet Wednesday at 6pm at the main entrance. The workout will be a Fartlek with variations of speed and distance Sooo….why did the Chicken cross the playground? To get to the other slide!


How the hill is your training going?
How the hill is your training going? With a summer of speed on the track we haven’t had an opportunity for any hill running as a group. Hill running is essential in any training plan and with Shoreline and other upcoming races it would be a good time to implement. Well Wednesday is your big chance.
