THIS WEEK WE WILL BE HOLDING OUR SPEED WORKOUT ON TUESDAY EVENING AT 5:45. WE WILL BE MEETING IN THE ILLINOIS STATE FAIR GROUNDS AT THE EXPO BUILDING.
With the St. Jude's Mile and a lot of other great training behind us, it is time to try some SRRC racing. For this week's speed session I'd like to have the group give the State Fair Parade Run course a try. No need to feel "down" or "duck" out on this opportunity. So waddle on over to the fairgrounds and meet up with your other quacky friends!
The workout will consist of a warm-up, and then we will run the State Fair Parade Run course twice. The first time, we will run as a group. I'd like to stop every 1/4 mile and discuss race strategy and things that I've learned through the years that will help make your racing more successful. The second time, you can run at whatever pace seems right for you. Hard, tempo, recovery, or any variation that fits in with your training.
Looking forward to seeing everyone and hopefully a few new faces. All are welcome to join this great group of fun, funny, talented and generous runners!
