Parade Run FAQs
I registered after the shirt guarantee deadline, can I still get a shirt?
There will be NO extra shirts available after July 28, 2019 at 11:59 p.m. US Central time.
What kind of race shirts?
The shirts are gender specific: unisex short sleeve and women tanks.
Are there medals for this race?
Sorry, no medals.
Can I register on race day?
Yes, but it ends at 4:45 SHARP. Head to the Ethnic Village between 3:30 pm and 4:45 on the day of the race. Registering online and picking up your packet OUTSIDE of the fair will include fair admission, so it's better to pre-register online.
When does online registration close?
Online registration closes August 4, 2019 at 11:59 p.m. US Central time.
Do I have to pay to get into the fair?
If you pick up your packet on the Wednesday night before the race, from 3:30 to 6:30 p.m., at the Springfield Running Center, you will be provided one ticket for fair entry for the race. Packets not picked up until race day will not be provided an entry ticket.
Where does the race start?
The starting line is on Main Street right outside the Ethnic Village. The Illinois State Fair Parade Race route will follow the official Illinois State Fair Parade route.
Where do we park?
Parking is not provided with the entry fee and is the participant's responsibility in any of the parking areas available to the public in and around the fairgrounds.
Can I walk it?
Yes, as long as you can maintain a 17 minute pace per mile. We have time restrictions due to the parade start time.
Can I push a stroller?
No, our insurance liability prohibits it.
Can I run with my dog?
No, again our insurance prohibits it.
Where are the post race refreshments and awards?
Head to the Ethnic Village immediately following the race for food, drinks and awards!
Awards will be given to the top 3 male and female overall, the top 3 in each age division (5 year increments starting at 10 and under), and the overall male and female in the Master's category.
