I Can Bearly Stand to Say Good-bye
We have finally reached the end of speed training and it's time to celebrate. We have accomplished a great deal and gotten faster in the process. When Kim told me I must lead the speed sessions I told her "NO WAY!" She said "WAY!" and soon I was leading our group. We started in the park and then found our way to the SHG track. We also visited the fairgrounds for a preview of the Parade Run course. We ran in hot, hotter, and hottest weather and survived every time. The thi

I see a mile in your future...
It's prediction mile time again. We tried this workout in the spring, before we started meeting at the track. Last time "Evil" Sam Woods was way over his predicted time..."Perhaps I'll run a 2 minute mile!" So the plan is to meet Wednesday, 5:45 p.m., at the Washington Park Pavilion. We will do our usual dynamic warm-up and stretching followed by a picture. Then we will run easy to the boulevard for 2 race pace 400s. Next we will start our mile prediction run. The cours

SRRC online store open for business!
We've been working on this for a while now, but the great response to the new club running shirts pushed us to get it open! We're now taking pre-orders for hoodies, tanks, and t's. There are a few in-stock items available for purchase as well. For now, we'll be doing Running Center drop offs. Once things slow down a bit, we may consider adding shipping as an option. If you have any questions, please feel free to email srrcweb@gmail.com. All designs have the 217 (2-run-7)

I can see the light! (09/05/2018)
Back in Washington Park on 9/5, we are going to give the Light Pole Run another try....hopefully running past, not into them. We will meet Wednesday at the park pavilion at 5:45 p.m., stretch and do a mile warm-up. Next, we will do a 2-mile loop, alternating fast and slow between the light poles. To add to the difficulty, we will run fast for 2 light poles and recover for 1. After the run we will do a mile or more cool down. This workout is geared more towards endurance
